What happens in a YogaBugs Class?
YogaBugs is imaginative and fun yoga for children aged 2 ½ to 7 years! Yoga postures, breathing and relaxation techniques are woven together into exciting stories and games. In the safety and familiarity of our space at Me & My Baby, children can have wild and wonderful journeys and always be the heroes in their adventure.
Our classes are all inclusive and a complete form of physical exercise in a safe and non competitive environment. Elements of the curriculum can be introduced into classes to make learning more fun.
Classes always end with relaxation, using visualisation and breathing techniques.
How can Yoga Bugs help me and my child?A regular practice of Yoga can help to boost you and your child’s immune system and strengthen the core stabilising muscles of the abdomen and back whilst helping to tone the body. Posture work increases stamina, flexibility and mobility and helps to reduce injury. Breathing exercises improve concentration and energy levels, whilst promoting healthy sleeping patterns. Relaxation techniques help focus the mind, allowing for better memory retention, whilst calming symptoms of anxiety and nervousness. Affirmations help children feel more confident.
Do I do yoga too?Yes of sorts! If you want a full adult class we suggest you join our Yummy Mummy classes but joining your little one in YogaBugs is great fun and will get you to move around and stretch, so do wear comfortable, loose fitting clothes and mum’s and/or dad’s are welcome.

Rosie
Rosie stumbled, literally, into a yoga class around the time she turned 18. Since then she has experimented with various methods whilst enjoying a hectic, fun-filled life in the theatre until finally she settled into a daily ashtanga practice and naturally moved into teaching yoga by assisting her own teacher, Joey Miles. She now brings all the creative energy of the theatre to her YogaBugs and Yoga'd Up classes in sessions that are imaginative, joyful and ultimately soothing.
Rosie has practiced yoga with teachers all over the world including Pattabhi Jois in Mysore and John Scott in Cornwall, she completed a formal teacher training qualification with Paul Dallaghan in Thailand at his Centred Yoga Institute and went on to qualify to teach children through YogaBugs. Rosie believes yoga should be taught from a heart filled with laughter.
