Helping you have a Healthier Pregnancy...Happier Baby
Before you are pregnant: Pre-Conceptual
With fertility rates in the UK declining due to a combination of factors our recommendation is to review and improve your health and wellbeing before trying to conceive. As you are creating the foundations for a new life, simple improvements you and your partner make at this time can lead to greater differences for you and your baby later on, and help you have a healthier pregnancy.
Trying for a long time or just getting started?Whether you are aware of reproductive problems and have been trying to conceive for some time or are just taking the first steps to becoming parents, we offer a range of therapies to support an improvement in your reproductive and general health alongside care and attention to support you day-to-day.
Me & My Baby's recommended Treatments:
TopAcupuncture & Chinese Herbs
Acupuncture and herbs can be useful in helping with a number of gynaecological problems such as an irregular cycle, blocked fallopian tubes, uterine fibroids, endometriosis, polycystic ovary syndrome and recurrent thrush and cystitis.
IVF / IUI ?We can support patients receiving treatment from many top UK fertility clinics recognised by the Human Fertility and Embryology Association. Should you be having assisted reproduction we can provide a relaxing environment to support transfer treatments, improving your chance of success.*
Improving male fertilityRegular acupuncture treatments can help regulate your cycle, allowing you to more accurately know when you ovulate as well as helping to prepare the uterus for a healthy conception. Male fertility has been shown to improve within 100 days so treatments at this time can be useful in boosting sperm count, and/or improving sperm motility and correct morphology (sperm shape and size).
* A recent German study showed improvement in IVF outcome when two sessions of acupuncture were added on the day of embryo transfer. The pregnancy outcome revealed an improvement from 26% to 42% in each of the 80 patients who were randomised to treatment with or without acupuncture in the same treatment programme.
TopAromatherapy
Aromatherapy is considered one of the most effective methods of dealing with menstrual and reproductive problems. Many essential oils calm and soothe the limbic system – helping to reduce stress related tension that can exacerbate symptoms, or regulate hormone production. Some essential oil constituents have hormone-like behaviour because their structure is naturally similar so they interact with the same receptors that identify hormones. Essential oils such as jasmine and rose have a general strengthening effect on the reproductive system as well as a strong "feel-good" factor.
TopHomeopathy
Prior to conception homeopathy can help to strengthen both partners constitutionally by treating for acquired or inherited tendencies and can help with fertility issues. It works well in combination with other therapies and can often help release emotional blocks.
TopHypnofertility
Hypnosis is a naturally induced state of relaxed concentration - a state of mind and body in which we communicate suggestions to the part of our mind, our subconscious, that influences what we think, how we feel, and the choices we make. Almost anyone who chooses to can reach deep relaxation and redirected focus, and use that focus for positive change.
Couples experiencing difficulty conceiving or undergoing IVF treatments benefit enormously from HypnoFertility techniques and the likelihood of natural pregnancy or IUI/IVF being successful are greatly increased by reducing stress levels, dealing with anger and guilt issues, visualising being pregnant and developing a positive attitude to life.
TopNutrition
Many diets today are low in the nutrients needed for healthy sperm and egg production and lifestyle factors such as alcohol, stress, smoking and pollution are damaging to both the male and female reproductive systems. A nutritional consultation at this time will involve a detailed assessment of both you and your partner’s diet and lifestyle with a recommendation for tests if required.* You will be given an individually tailored diet and supplement programme and also given advice on how to identify the most fertile days of your cycle.
* Through The Doctor's Laboratory
TopOsteopathy
When trying to conceive, an osteopathic “check-up” can be useful. Helping to relieve old childhood injuries or scar tissue which can hamper a healthy conception, it can allow your body to function at its optimum level. In some cases of recurrent miscarriage, mechanical factors may contribute to the problem. Identifying these may help to support a healthy pregnancy.
TopReflexology
Reflexology can also help balance and regulate hormones as well as reducing stress levels. Recommended in combination with our aromatherapy treatments some clients prefer to use reflexology rather than acupuncture to boost their fertility.
