NCT Antenatal Classes
Daytime, evening and week-end National Childbirth Trust antenatal classes are held at Me & My Baby on a regular basis, taught by Sarah Savaskan.
Information covered includes :
- Coping skills for labour
- Breathing awareness
- Relaxation techniques
- Positions for labour and birth
- Medical aspects of birth (such as fetal monitoring, induction, instrumental deliveries, caesarean section)
- Postnatal care
- Early parenthood
- Breastfeeding
There are 3 formats for the classes:
- Evenings - 5 sessions, 3 hours each session
- Morning/Evenings - usually 4 morning and 3 evening sessions, 2 hour each session
- Weekend/Weekday - 1 weekend/1 weekday around 6 hours each session
Partners are welcome to attend any of the sessions.
How do I book?Bookings are not made through Me & My Baby but directly through the NCT's main website. For details of the full schedule of dates and prices contact www.nct.org.uk.
Sarah also teaches private antenatal classes at Me & My Baby. Costing £300.00 per course for a maximum of 4-6 couples, the classes will run on a Sunday plus a week day evening. The Sunday session covers labour issues, and the evening looks at the first six weeks with your new baby.

Sarah Savaskan
Sarah became involved with the National Childbirth Trust during her first pregnancy. She now has four children and still meets regularly with the women from her first antenatal group – twenty three years later.Her first three children were born at St Thomas’ Hospital and her forth baby was born at home. Sarah has attended many births, including caesarian sections, as a doula/birth support. She started training as an antenatal teacher after the birth of her third child and since qualifying 15 years ago has been teaching classes for the NCT on a full-time basis. Sarah's reputation is well established and her classes are highly popular.
