Too much choice can be overwhelming. All our treatments, classes and workshops can be enjoyed on an individual basis, as and when you need them however we have created our packages in combinations we feel make life a little simpler and provide useful savings. From the pre-conceptual period, throughout the stages of your pregnancy and onto to becoming a parent, we are here to care for you and your growing family.

Fertility & Trying to Conceive

With fertility rates in the UK declining due to a combination of factors our recommendation is to review and improve your health and wellbeing before trying to conceive. As you are creating the foundations for a new life, simple improvements you and your partner make at this time can lead to greater differences for you and your developing baby. Whether you are aware of reproductive problems and have been trying to conceive for some time or are just taking the first steps to becoming parents, our packages will ensure an improvement in your reproductive and general health alongside care and attention to support you day-to-day.

Acupuncture Only

As a couple trying to conceive we recommend a focus on improving both partners’ fertility. It takes 3 months to generate new, good quality sperm, and from 3 months to re-balance menstrual irregularities through central modulation of the hypothalamic-pituitary-ovarian axis. Whether you have long, short, irregular, heavy, light, or painful menstrual cycles, all can be treated with acupuncture.

This package also offers support to IVF patients*, improving uterine artery blood flow and endometrial development. Acupuncture is non toxic and comparatively more affordable. Initial research indicates its potential as an adjunct in assisted reproduction or as an alternative for women who are intolerant, ineligible, or contraindicated for conventional hormone induction of ovulation.

* Please note: we work with patients from the Assisted Conception Unit at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital and can arrange appointments to support embryo transfer when required.

In addition acupuncture is effective at boosting the immune system, treating fatigue and stress, and improving sleep.

Complete Package

Acupuncture treatments are complemented by the addition of a health and lifestyle assessment, fertility supplements and/or herbs, personally blended aromatherapy oils, massage and reflexology.

  • Total treatment time: 600 minutes
  • Extra’s: Supplements, herbs and personal blends are an additional charge as required. We choose to use supplements approved by Dr Marilyn Glenville, the UK's top nutritionist specialising in women's health and author of "Getting Pregnant Faster".
  • Duration: to be taken over a 16 week period. (Please note: should conception occur the package will be extended to cover your pregnancy.)
  • Cost: £795.00* (£95.00 saving)

Paulus et al, (2002) showed improvement in IVF outcome when two sessions of acupuncture were added on the day of embryo transfer, now known as “The German Protocol”. The pregnancy outcome revealed an improvement from 26% to 42%.

Labour & Birth Preparation (for natural and caesarean) 37 – 40 weeks

From week 37 we recommend weekly or bi-weekly sessions of acupuncture and/or acupressure & reflexology alongside lymphatic drainage and visualisation techniques to help prepare the body and mind for birth by boosting energy, helping fluid retention and supporting the pelvis and cervix to encourage spontaneous labour to commence.

Research and feedback from New Zealand midwives indicates that the use of pre-birth acupuncture results in a reduction of post date (overdue) babies, shorter labours and less medical intervention.

We also know that treatments at this time can help you switch off and become more open and ready for the life change you are about to experience. We also can’t think of a better time to put your feet up and relax!

If a caesarean birth is planned, treatments beforehand can assist you with your preparation and recovery. You may have been recommended this route for medical reasons and have mixed emotions about this or have personally chosen this path but still feel anxious about your baby’s delivery.

Working alongside your medical team, we want to offer you as much care and support as you need to give you confidence for a positive birth experience.

  • Duration: to be taken over a 4 week period

NB: We recommend your birthing partner attends one session to learn simple acupressure techniques to help you during labour with general pain relief.

Encouraging Natural Labour prior to Induction 40+ weeks

Not all babies arrive on or before their due date and whilst this is perfectly normal it can lead to feelings of impatience, anxiety and apprehension. Physically you may be feeling tired and uncomfortable. If you have reached your due date and are scheduled for a medical induction we recommend this option. At the very least it will encourage a calm state and sense of wellbeing, renewing your energy prior to delivery and help you to regain your excitement and re-focus as well as promoting a healthier recovery.

  • Total treatment time: *up to 210 minutes
  • Extra’s: Recommended homeopathic remedies and/or personal blends are charged as required
  • Duration: to be taken over a 10-14 day period
  • Cost: £140.00 (*£70.00 saving)

* If your baby has not arrived after your initial 2 sessions, a 3rd session will be offered free of charge. If your baby arrives after your first session, your second will be offered as a post natal treatment.

Our shortest program can be taken at any time during your pregnancy but is highly recommended during your last trimester through until you give birth. Treatments at this time will focus on relieving the common symptoms experienced towards the end of pregnancy and preparing you for labour and becoming a mother.
