New parents today are surrounded by multiple sources of information from the internet, television and magazines, much of which can be conflicting. The traditional support of the family is often further away than would be ideal. Becoming a parent can bring much excitement but also challenges. Baby-steps provide Me & My Baby clients with this practical workshop, focused on developing your confidence and reducing your anxiety with a number of different scenarios discussed and clear guidelines given. Sessions are relaxed, friendly and provide invaluable support and advice on looking after your baby.
The first part of the workshop looks at what to do if your baby became suddenly unwell, had breathing difficulties, possible head injuries, a poisonous substance, had a fit and the signs and symptoms of Meningitis. Know what to have in your medicine cabinet, recognise initial signs and symptoms of other illnesses and where and when to seek medical advice.
Baby Resuscitation allows you to practice on manikins, learning just what to do if your baby stopped breathing or was choking.
Due to feedback from previous participants we are now offering this combined session in a useful condensed format and recommend attendance in your last trimester or first 6 months post birth when you are welcome to bring your baby.
