HypnoBirthingTM is a complete ante natal course that teaches women how to give birth in an easier, calmer, more comfortable manner and which restores a woman's confidence in her body's natural ability.
The workshop offers a good mix of theory and practical work with plenty of time to answer individual questions. You will learn the following:-
- Deep relaxation
- Special breathing
- Fear release techniques
- Methods to eliminate the Fear-Tension-Pain syndrome before, during and after birth
- Ways to shorten the first stage of labour and reduce the need for painkillers
The course is run in 2 sessions. We highly recommended the HypnoBirthing course in conjunction with our Preparation for Labour & Birth workshop to give a complete antenatal course.
The cost for HypnoBirthing includes all course materials (book, 2 CDs and working folder).
Individual HypnoBirthing CourseWhere a couple wish to do an individual course, 3 x 3 hour or 2 x 4.5 hour sessions are offered, generally in the evening. Birth partner/husband's are encouraged to attend all sessions but minimum attendance of the first session is all that is required. £495.00 including CD, book and resources.
HypnoBirthing 'Basics'Couples are very much encouraged to take the full course but if this is completely impossible the 'basics' can be offered in 2 x 1.5 hour sessions. £190.00 including CD and resources. Book £15.00 extra if required.
One client (and her somewhat initially reluctant partner)who recently experienced an intense one-to-one session at 39 weeks, gave birth on her estimated due date - five days after her session and said
The breathing techniques were invaluable.
The midwives were very impressed!
I got to 7cm at home on my own and then it was just over 4 hours in hospital ...
Last minute sessions can be successful however the right attitude is important - being determined to have a good birth - trusting yourself and your body.
